KAFFIR LIME IS UPLIFTING AND CALMING.
helps to regain energy, detoxes liver, blood + body, nourish + clean hair (add to shampoo) + skin (pimples), lighten, clear + tighten skin, deodorant, antioxidant, regulates menstruation + blood pressure, relieve pain, colds, congestion + cough, flatulence (heavy meals), anxiety, stress, insomnia (sedative), cancer prevention.

MEDICINAL USES
The juice and rind of the kaffir lime is used in traditional Indonesian medicine where it is referred to as “asjeruk obat” or “medicine citrus”.
The juice of the Kaffir lime is also used in Southeast Asian folk medicine for promoting gum health when brushing teeth and gums.
The fruit has great essential oils which are incorporated in many ointments.
The rind itself is an ingredient in many medicinal tonics which benefit the blood.
Just like Galangal and Lemongrass, the rind benefits digestion.
The oil from the Kaffir lime’s rind also contains a strong insecticide.
Properties as an insect repellant Research: “Volatile oils extracted by steam distillation from four plant species Turmeric, Kaffir lime, Citronella grass and Hairy basil, were evaluated in mosquito cages and in a large room for their repellency effects against three mosquito vectors, Aedes aegypti, Anopheles dirus and Culex quinquefasciatus.
These oils, especially with added 5% vanillin, repelled the three species under cage conditions for up to EIGHT hours. [1]
What else can it do?
The Kaffir lime juice is used to remove rust and prevent rusting from iron vessels and articles (regular application).
Kaffir lime peel may be used to rub on the face to lighten freckles, to clarify and tighten the skin.
It is also an excellent astringent and anti-bacterial agent helping to control pimple outbreaks.
This wonderful fruit which we grow in our organic garden, is also used in traditional TTM Thai herbal compresses.
We use its Hydrosol to clean our body, our floors, windows, walls…All that from this one fruit? OH YES….
