Here is a good question about
CALMING, GROUNDING AND INFUSED OILS
which is inspired by Rosalee de la Foret.
If you have been feeling frazzled no matter what you do…
Even “I drink my teas and take my tinctures, but I still feel like my nerves are on edge.
Is there something else I can try to feel more grounded?”
This is such a good question—and one I can really relate to.
Here’s something I’ve completely changed my mind about…
When I first heard about using herbal infused oils for stress,
I thought it was wishful thinking.
Taking a tea or tincture to support the nervous system?
Absolutely.
But rubbing oil on your body?
That sounded far-fetched.
Then I started seeing the results firsthand. When I was in clinical practice, I watched people transform with this simple practice. The shift in their nervous systems was unmistakable—calmer, more centered, more at ease in their bodies.
Herbal infused oils are especially lovely for people who tend to be dry and cool, but they’re a grounding practice for anyone.
These days, I can’t imagine being without them.
There’s not a night that goes by that I don’t use some type of oiling practice to help reset and come back to myself.
This practice has deep roots. In Ayurveda, daily self-massage with warm oil is called abhyanga. It’s thought to nourish the tissues, support circulation and lymph flow, and calm vata—the dosha associated with dryness, anxiety, and restlessness.
Even a few minutes of gentle oiling can quiet the mind and remind the body it’s safe to relax.
And in times like these—when there’s so much happening in the world—it’s easy to be pulled off center. These small, beautiful rituals can help anchor us again.
Check out herbalist Kami McBride who is teaching a free workshop all about this, including three herbal oils that specifically help calm the nervous system and lift stress.
She’s also sharing some underrated application techniques that make them even more effective.

My favorites are Orange Mandarin, Eucalyptus and Kaffir Lime EO which do grow abundantly in Chiangmai (yes, also organically) and which we steam distill ourselves…
Other calming essential oils are :
1. Lavender (Lavandula officinalis)
2. Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
3. Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)
4. Lemon (Citrus limonum)
5. Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
6. Eucalyptus( Eucalyptus globulus, or sideroxylon or torquata)
7. Clove (Syzygium aromaticum)
8. Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis)
9. Frankincense (Boswellia carterii)
10. Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha)
11. Grapefruit(Citrus paradisi) Pomello
